Local Information About PIzza on Maryland's Eastern Shore

It’s #NationalPizzaDay!

On the Eastern Shore, crab and oysters may get top billing when it comes to local food, but we have some pretty delicious options when you just.want.pizza. Here are a few of my local favorites:

Ava’s

With locations in both Cambridge and St. Michaels, Ava’s has delicious wood-fired pizzas. The menu is extensive and not limited to pizza, and I often find myself going for the pizza but having a hard time deciding from the other great choices. The Ma’s Meatballs are also a local favorite!

Out of the Fire

A long-standing best-loved restaurant in Easton, this cozy spot in the heart of downtown features wood-fired pizzas along with salads and other featured offerings. I can’t seem to eat there without starting with the Meze Platter, which is a Greek-inspired assortment of tzatziki, hummus, and goat cheese with other yummies sprinkled in. They feature local, organic products and have a market for carryout items. I especially appreciate the extensive Gluten-free options.

Roma Alla Pala

Located in downtown Easton, this newer addition to the pizza landscape offers true Roman-style pizzas, and pizza is all they do (with a few compliments such as desserts). My hands-down favorite is the Spinach & Chevre pizza, on thin crust. Yum! There is a small outdoor dining area, but this restaurant is largely carry-out. Order online for quick pick up.

Rusticana

This traditional pizzeria is great for when you have a crowd of hungry teenagers or crave just a simple, delicious pizza. Very casual dine-in or carry-out. A great option also for non-pizza items like wings and cheesesteaks.
